Girls on the Run interactive poster. Celebrating 25 years of confidence!

April 27th, 2025

She Soars joined Girls On The Run Georgia for their 25th annual 5k, celebrating 25 years of confidence!

She Soars operated a vendor table where one side was for parent resources and the other was a space where the girls could come up and spin the wheel for a prize! The prize wheel had different activities to encourage healthy outlets for dealing with emotions and discussed daily activities for wellness. Participants engaged with us by completing activities such as creating a fun dance, telling us how they relax, naming how they stay active, and more. We also had a poster where people at the event could write down advice for a friend who was struggling or write what they would want to hear if they themselves were overwhelmed.

On the parent side of the table, we had various mental health resources including our 24/7 text line. Parents were also able to sign up to be put on our email list for additional resources.

Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering girls through a unique curriculum that combines physical activity with lessons in confidence, connection, and character.

GOTR is designed for girls in 3rd through 8th grade. The program helps participants develop essential life skills while fostering a sense of belonging and joy. Trained volunteer coaches lead interactive sessions that encourage healthy habits, emotional resilience, and teamwork. Our She Soars founder and executive director, Dr. Keri Hill, is one of the volunteer coaches with GOTR. She had a great time supporting her team while the She Soars college volunteers managed the table and activities.

Each season ends with a celebratory 5K, we were so happy to be part of it. Thank you Girls on the Run for your partnership!
