Feelings of discouragement, fear, disbelief, and sadness filled the hearts of many Americans as we reflected on the results of the presidential election. For the Black woman these feelings were intensified for several reasons. We have a history of carrying such heavy weight for ourselves and our families and thriving in spaces where we are not celebrated, and often not even welcome. For many of us, the presidential results sparked painful reflection that makes our load feel even heavier. It is important for us to make space to address our pain and do what we can to lighten our load.

And, as we push through, once again, we must remember to honor our feelings, honor ourselves, and honor each other.

Let us Soar -- Together.
